It's now the beginning of the summer holidays and still no sun, how annoying!! But for all you lucky people coming up to the Lakes District for your summer break we have some great news.
The Beatrix Potter Gallery is now open on Fridays 10.30-5pm (last entry at 4.30pm).
This means that the Gallery doesn't get its normal weekly deep clean but we've employed a new member of staff and have made sure that the house and the original water colours are getting the right treatment.
The Gallery doesn't have alot of furniture so dusting is at a minium but it's the floors of this fantastic 17th century building that people really love. We care for them by vacuuming every day then once a week we use special floor wax and buff it off to not only give it a good shine but adding a layer of protection for hundreds of feet. It's like the floor having its very own facial (though we don't use any cucumber on the floor, maybe on our eyes after all that hard work).
