Welcoming special visitors

John, our General Manager welcomes the group to Hill Top

John our General Manager, Jo our Visitor Experience Manager and the mansions team welcomed a special group of visitors to Hill Top and the Beatrix Potter Gallery last week in conjunction with the publishers Penguin/Frederick Warne.

The group were feature writers and journalists and as people who make a living from writing themselves they must have been interested to see Hill Top, a place which inspired much of Beatrix's own writing.

Hill Top visited, next stop the Beatrix Potter Gallery and our Peter Rabbit exhibition

The group was on a trip to the area to learn about a new 'Tale' of Beatrix Potter's Peter Rabbit (written by Emma Thompson, published by Frederick Warne and due out in September) and to enjoy the charms of Hill Top and the Lake District. Unfortunately the weather didn't co-operate but judging by the smiles outside Hill Top they look like they enjoyed the trip anyway!

Welcoming special groups and celebrities is all part of life at Hill Top; Gill in the shop is probably still not quite recovered from meeting Barbra Streisand and her husband James Brolin who visited a year or two back, but that's another story .....
